Best of 2011 – Mascara

Although I have not yet been tempted to stray from my usual choice of Chantecaille Faux Cils – frankly one of the best mascaras on the planet, on a permanent basis – I did come across the below this year and not only is it nearly as good as Chantecaille – it’s significantly cheaper. Around £28.00 cheaper…

var _gaq = _gaq || [];
_gaq.push([‘_setAccount’, ‘UA-16137992-1’]);
_gaq.push([‘_trackPageview’]);

(function() {
var ga = document.createElement(‘script’); ga.type = ‘text/javascript’; ga.async = true;
ga.src = (‘https:’ == document.location.protocol ? ‘https://ssl’ : ‘http://www’) + ‘.google-analytics.com/ga.js’;
var s = document.getElementsByTagName(‘script’)[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s);
})();

Maybelline ‘The Falsies Volume Express’ is not only a good, affordable mascara, it’s easily better than some of the really well known, really expensive ones.

Sorry about the large picture of the wand but it’s so you can see the formula is wet, which sounds really silly, but in the world of mascaras is becoming increasingly rare – in my experience. The brush is curved, but not too curved or too rigid – it lets you build and layer to get the effect you desire.

Love.

Available at the usual stockists – for around £5.00. Bargain.
