Also this: A call to arms - TONERS

Whilst I remember and have time to collate the info while Mum makes me tea, can you please let me know your favourite toners in the comments below?

I'm updating my post on toners and I don't want to leave any out.

And please don't bother worry about leaving me any 'You know you don't need toners don't you?' comments.

I love toner.

'These aren't the droids you're looking for. Move along.'

*UPDATE

WOW! You ladies really like your toners! Not gonna lie - it warms my heart a little. :)

  1. I am soo happy you are doing post on toners since i'll be running out of mine (Estee Lauder Fresh Balancing Lotion) in the next couple of days and I'll have to buy another one. Great timing!!:)

  2. Lush's Breath of Fresh Air - super nourishing and does an amazing job of taking redness out of my skin.

  3. Hi Caroline, I use the P50V (bought just 3mths ago so now sad that i never got to try the original-smelly one you rate so highly :( anyways, i know you're not a great fan of salicylic acid but paula's choice BHA liquid has helped to control my acne quite a bit. i use it as a toner 2-3 times a week in the morning. another good one is Perricone's MD firming facial toner.
looking forward to your news next week! (can i be a bit cheeky and ask if you have a date for the live clinic? i'm literally putting off buying any new skincare until then!) x

    1. I LOVE Salicylic acid! I'd like to try both of those! And the Clinic is looking at being next year now - but I AM trying to have some sort of get together before xmas.

  4. Not sure it's doing much but it's the most active I've found (in terms of ingredients) the Pai Rice Plant and Rosemary BioAffinity Toner. I have oily skin but they have toners for different skin types in their range.

  5. I love Benefit Moisture Prep Toning Lotion! It is a lotion rather than a water and doesn't sting the skin. I absolutely love it.

  6. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on toners, Caroline.

My favourite toner is Elemis Rehydrating Ginseng.

    ReplyDelete
  7. My favourite is the Liz Earle toner- I like how you can get it as a tonic spray too- so useful! Have also been trying a YonKa one which also comes as a spritz- quite similar to the Liz Earle scent wise and I like it x

    ReplyDelete
  8. Not sure if it qualifies as a toner but I love the queen of Hungary mist , I prefer it to the caudalie. I also like the Liz Earle toner spritz

  9. Brenda Anvari Skin Tonic. Beautiful.

  10. Out of those I used so far I liked Derma E Pycnogenol Facial Toner the most, but I would really like to hear your take on toners (and thoughts on ingredients of this one particularly as I don't know much about science of toners:)).

(Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Organic Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract*, Organic Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract*, Pinus Pinaster (Pycnogenol) Bark Extract, Panthenol, Allantoin, Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract*, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.)

Btw - my skin is oily, blemish prone, sometimes dehydrated on the surface and very sensitive (perioral dermatitis)

  13. I love the Dr Hauschka facial toner, which smells divine and is delivered via a spray so goes on like a beautiful mist.

  14. Elemis balancing lavender :)

  15. antipodes resurrect toner always calms my skin down and somehow helps with breakouts, though i'm not sure which particular ingredient does it.

(ingredients: purified water, lavender flower water, sage water, chamomile extract, fragrance, d-limonene, geraniol, coumarin)

  18. I love the Manuka Dr toner (from Holland & Barratt) its amazing, feels super effective too I have super oily skin, very prone to breakouts
sometimes if I've got super bad breakouts I'll add a few drops of tea tree oil or witch hazel to it. It really is an amazing toner though

  19. Elemis balancing lavender and lush tea tree toner:)

  20. I just discovered a fabulous toner from an Italian brand l'Erboristica, it's their facial toner lotion with argan oil and alfa hydroxy acid, I've really actually seen the difference since I've been starting to use it.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm using Lierac gentle toner at the moment and really liking it! The REN toning mist is also rather nice.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I use the REN clarifying toner for its exfoliating properties, it's working well so far! LUSH's tea tree toner is lovely and refreshing after and I also use the clarins daily energizer one but I wouldn't repurchase it

    1. Me too! Have used it for years, but I pop it in a spritzer. I find I am more likely to use it that way.

  26. I'm using Lush Tea tree toner water and it feels nice on my face after cleaning and applying hydralauron. I noticed you recommended Clarins exfoliating toner in the clinic. Was wondering whats the diff between exfoliating toners and toner water? Im asuming exfoliating ones are more abrasive with bits in? Or have i got it wrong?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. When I say 'exfoliating' I generally mean something with acids present - so they are technically used at the toner stage although they are much more of an exfoliating product.

      Delete
  27. I love Lush's Breath of Fresh Air, I really feel like I'm treating my skin when I use it and it's affordable :) x x

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm using the L'ORÉAL age perfect one you mentioned ages ago. Cheap as chips but works well for me.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I can't make my mind up between Origins United State tonic and Clarins Iris (combination/oily skin) toner. Both really help balance my skin.

    ReplyDelete
  30. My favourite is Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic for the smell and the way it makes my skin feel refreshed, but as funds are tight at the moment I have switched to L'Oreal Age Perfect Refreshing Toner (as you had recommended it in a previous post about toners) and I quite like it too.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Most of the time I use a Thayers toner that I purchase at Whole Foods, which contains witch hazel, and love it. If I feel a bit more fancy, I use the clarifying toner from Dr. Hauschka, because I have normal to combo skin, and it works great.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I would never do my cleansing routine without Toner, it just adds that little bit extra freshness. My all time favourite is Lush Aroma water. As I am getting older it brings a little more softness to my skin. Liz Earle instant boost skin tonic is really nice too.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I use the Rohto Hadalabo super hyaluronic toner but it feels like a serum it's so moisturising. i dunno, i can't seem to find out truly what it's marketed as, as it's called a 'lotion' and is very moisturising but people refer to it as a toner.lost in translation perhaps?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Spooky, I was reading your toner recommendations earlier in the week after I saw Rose Water from Boots (one of my staples) didn't seem to go down so well in one of your clinic responses. Today, I'm about to go shopping and came back on to seek your post out again when this one popped up. Will have to get a small something today and save the splurge for when your updated recommendations come up. Looking forward to the post, have a good weekend :)

  35. Khiel's "Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol-Free Toner"

    ReplyDelete
  36. Decleor Aroma Cleanse Matifying Lotion. Not for everyone but this and their ylang ylang face oil are 2 products that have really transformed the appearance of my skin (plus my fish oils & double cleanse/hot flannel, thank you BM!). Shudder that I used to think toner was a complete con - what was I thinking?!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I Love ESPA's Floral Spafresh - the smell is beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Another vote for the Liz Earle toner.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Another vote for the Liz Earle toner (have superdry quite sensitive skin).

    ReplyDelete
  40. I bought the P50v and have been using it for a couple months now. It is the old formula and while I feel the sting, I am not noticing any difference. I want to love it and I am wondering if it was an old bottle or if I need the regular P50 (maybe P50v wasn't strong enough?)

    ReplyDelete
  41. I use the Decleor Aroma Cleanse Essential Tonifying Lotion with Neroli Essential Oil.
Have no idea if it does anything, I just use toners because the Internet told me to :) I've always suspected they're just scented water, so I'm looking forward to your post!

Recently discovered your blog, btw, and I love it! Wish there was an easier way to find older posts though.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I have just started to use the Pure toner from the Pure skincare range - available from M&S. It is made by a British company (something like Arbashe & Arbashe??) and has lovely natural ingredients, all sourced in Britain and is.... Bee friendly! Sinead x

    ReplyDelete
  43. I use Kiehl's Calendula Toner. I have tried their entire collection (took me ages!) and I came back to this one as this was gentle to my skin!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I love LUSH's Tea Tree Water toner. Calmed my sensitive, acneic, oily skin right down. Like a mom with a wooden spoon on a child with a temper.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I love a good toner - I like both the Nude toners Hydrating and Clarifying (although looking on the website I fear that these too have had a makeover as I can only find "purifying" with cinnamon in it). I like the Pai Plant Water Rice Water and Rosemary. I also like *sharp intake of breath* Clinique MILD clarifying lotion - you have to ask for almost under the counter because the SAs will always try to sell the #1,#2, or #3. Elemis Apricot Toner is also rather nice if one can get over the scent. Next on my list to try is Darphin Intral and I would also quite like to try some of the Melvita floral waters.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Lush Eau Roma water for me, I don't know that it *does* anything particular, but it feels nice, smells nice, and my skin seems less red when I'm using it under moisturiser. It's very soothing on my sensitive and dry/ dehydrated skin too.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I love Super by perricone's toner contains a cocktail of aha's, lactic, glycolic, malic and others me thinks and does not have alchohol or the sting factor. Its like a mini exfoliate every evening for me and not a bad price too. High end its Tata Harper as its contains Hyaluronic acid, smells delish but too high a price to repeat purchase ( for the third time). A toner for me has to have active ingredients to justify its use and I choose wisely. And water as the first ingredient soooo p's me off. I do love me some floral hydrosols- mix of various.

    ReplyDelete
  48. My current fav is Pai Bioaffintiy Rice Plant & Rosemary Toner. But I also love Mario Badescu Special Cucumber Lotion. If you are ever in NYC, I highly recommend getting a facial at Mario Badescu.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Decleor Essential Tonifying Lotion with Neroli, Decleor Youth Lotion, Elemis Balancing Lavender Toner and Elemis Rehydrating Ginseng Toner :-)

  50. Mine is the Kiehl's Rare Earth Pore Refining Toner. It's brilliant for oily skin, really helps controlling the oil production! xx

  51. I feel guilty for admitting that I am using and loving Naked Skin's Up Tone Girl. Are you going to tell me off?! It just feels niiiiiice. I also like the Neal's Yard Rose one, the Decleor Tonifying and the Shu Uemera hamamelis depsea mist. The Up Tone Girl is thus: Aqua, Hamamelis virginana (Witch hazel) extract, Glycerin, PEG-40 Hydrogenated castor oil, Gossypium herbaceum (cotton) seed oil extract, Sodium PCA, PCA, Sodium lactate, Arginine, Aspartic acid, Glutamine,Threonine, Serine, Proline, Tyrosine, Glycine, Alanine, Leucine, Valine,Isoleucine, Phenylalanine, Histidine, Lysine, Arginine, Jojoba wax PEG-120 esters, Aloe barbadensis extract, Calendula officinalis extract, Citrus aurantium amara (neroli) oil, Sodium hydroxmethylglycinate,Linalool, Limonene,Farnesol,Geraniol.

  53. Not classed as a toner but I like Etat Pur Miceller water. Light, cleanses well and can use as a stand alone cleanser for lighter make up days. About £6.40 off their website so it doesn't break the bank either. x PS I used to be anti toner as well this changed my mind :)

    ReplyDelete
  54. med beauty swiss gly clean toner is quite great i think, or rosewater =) xx

    ReplyDelete
  55. Another vote for Claris toning lotion with iris! I love this toner, since adding this to my routine my skin is much more balanced and makeup stays put for much longer without going patchy. Also, it's just so refreshing! Can go a bit overboard in the eve after a long day, slosh this all over my face followed by hydraluron and my moisturiser, and my skin feels so comfortable and plumped!

    ReplyDelete
  56. The facialist I go to told me never to use a toner too stripping on the skin? The whole company advocates this. It is so confusing. I would like to use maybe an exfoliating lotion/toner but I have no idea what is best to use. I looking forward to hearing all views on this as I am confused. One has caught my eye though omorovicza hungary mist any thought?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Nonsense. Traditional alcohol-based toners would be stripping yes - but we have moved much further on than that now! What brand is it?

      Delete
    2. The company I use for my facials & treatments is Destination Skin. I have always been advised no toner & wear a high SPF!

      Delete
  57. Garnier Simply Essentials soothing vitamin-enriched toner. It contains perfume, alcohol or colourants and is lovely and gentle. It's only £3 but is often half price so I always stock up. Love it!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Origins Zero Oil Toner and Peter Thomas Roth Max Complexion Correction Pads. Not sure if the latter is technically a toner but that's how I use it. I use the first one at night and the other in the morning. I am very oily and acne prone.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I would try swapping them around - use the PTR at night and the Origins in the morning - but check the Origins is alcohol free?

  59. I also like the queen Hungary mist and I love the zelens pads, if those count as a toner

    ReplyDelete
  60. I purchased Darphin Intral (along with Darphin purifying balm as advised by you - thank you a lot) and really love it.

I often alternate and use Clarins Camomile every other day in order to ... prevent myself from freaking out when I see I am running out of Darphin toner. It's not available here in S'pore ...

  65. Biologique Recherche P50 WITH PHENOL. My first bottle was without. Phenol makes all the difference. I use Kate Sommerville Clarifying Treatment toner or Caudalie Grape Water toner when my skin is congested and/or sensitive. Now I will add Vichy toner for sensitive skin.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I love Shiseido's Eudamine toner. Best one I've found.

    ReplyDelete
  67. My favorite toner is Paula's Choice Clear Targeted Acne Relief Toner with 2% Salicylic Acid. It really made my skin free of breakouts.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I never used a toner until I came across the Kiehl´s Ultra Facial Toner. This Toner is so amazing and helps my skin so much, I adore it. :)

  73. The last toners I've used are Lush's Tea Tree Water and Eau de Roma Water. Currently using Thayers Alcohol-free Rose Petal Witch Hazel toner. ReplyDelete
  77. Caudalie beauty elixir

    ReplyDelete
  78. Clarins Chamomile Toning Lotion in the winter or Origins United State Balancing Toner for summer. Love them both and they're great for sensitive skin!

    ReplyDelete
  79. My favourite at the moment is Lush's tea tree water. It's really calming on my skin and I'm sure it speeds up the healing time for any blemishes I have on my skin :)

    ReplyDelete
  80. I like elemis soothing toner and i also like caudalie BE, but only use that on areas with spots (fantastic for these thanks so much for recommending). skin tone and texture improved greatly from using the elemis one.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I've found the Caudelie mist to be fantastically meh but the two I keep coming back to are Heritage rosewater and glycerine mist (cheap and awesome) and the Ole Hendrickson Pick Me Up face tonic. I find the first hydrating and calming and the second to be brightening. If the P50 1970 is truly discontinued I will cry in a highly undignified fashion - the last time I ordered it though, you could get 1970 or reformulated and they were clear on the difference between them (I'm in the US)

    ReplyDelete
  82. I love the Clarins Camomile Toner, it is lovely and not drying at all on my very dry skin.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I am currently using Clarins Extra Comfort Toning Lotion because my skin has been awful recently. Sore and itchy from my rosacea.
When my skin has settled again i really want something with a bit more oomph. So some recommendations for different toners for different uses (if u get a chance) would be most useful.x

  84. I have very sensitive and dry skin, but I do love to use the following as toners:

    - Melvita Witch hazel floral water

    ReplyDelete
  85. You have to try Eau Précieuse! Quite popular in France & Belgium :)

  89. After having to revamp my skincare routine and using some of your advice, I've been using Lancome's Tonique Confort as it's hydrrating (supposedly for dry skin, I have combination and it's fine for me) and then I spray MD Formulations Moisture Defense spray over the top. Also very hydrating and the MD Formulations doesn't have any fragrance either, good for v sensitive skins!

  90. Super by dr Nicholas perricone's chia omega 3 moisturising activator is amazing on my dry/ dehydrated skin.

  91. Dermalogica's ultra calming mist and Eau Précieuse lotion (omega pharma). Both very nice. It might be a strange question, but can you please explain what caunts as a toner and what not? Is Clinique's clarifying lotion also a toner? Some mention micellaire waters, but are that toners as well? Thanks Caroline!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Clinique's Clarifying lotion IS a toner - but I would only ever recommend the alcohol free one - the others are all too strong and stripping imo.
Micellar waters are makeup removers thus classed as a cleanser.

  99. Hey I discovered your column googling Hydraluron reviews. I love your sarcasm and the information on beauty products is the best I have come across after hours of researching beauty blogs. So toners. Yes I believe in them. I dont use them...at the moment but I believe in them. The good ones I use when using are Blackmores pore refining toner. I just googled it and it seems that you can only buy it in Australia. I used to use my sisters. I also bought an Environ toner from a beauty thearapist years ago which is an alpha hydroxy so the black belt of toners. They said to just pat it on your face after cleaning using two fingers. Unusual way to use but it is an acid. I have alpha h serum I use twice a week which I like to think of as toning

  113. Hi Caroline! I am a 24 year old Indian girl with relatively healthy skin. I have been reading your blog regularly and really look forward to your posts.
I have been using the toner from Body Shop's vitamin E range which worked very well on my normal/ dry skin. I have recently been experimenting with the Liz Earle trial kit with the travel sized CTM bottles. I want to love it as i have read a lot about it starting with your old posts but I am breaking out on my forehead after two weeks now so may go back to body shop.
Could you please also explain the right way to apply/ use toners? I have been usiing cotton pads but know you are quite against their use .

Also I have been meaning to ask you list your favourite make up products (especially base products) with skincare benefits. Thanks :)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi! I'm not against cotton pads - just tissue during a facial :)

I use two toners - I apply the first with cotton - that is usually more exfoliating - then I spray with an alcohol-free hydrating/soothing mist. :)

I'll address the makeup Q on a post later ;)

    2. Hi Caroline,

Thanks a lot for your reply. For some reason I just happened to see this now. I had the impression that you were all for flannel and against the use of cotton pads at any time. Thanks foe the clarification.
I recently started using KORRES HAMAMELIS TONIC LOTION which is fully natural and feels like an exfoliating toner. Do you have any experience with this specific toner/KORRES products?
Awaiting your updated list of favourite toners and make up :D Love

I have recently started using the KORRES HAMAMELIS TONIC LOTION. It is fully natural and I can feel the sting on my skin upon application. Please share any opinions/experience you have had with this particular toner or with KORRES products.
Looking forward to your updated list of favourite toners and of course make up! :D

      Thanks, Love. Kalyani x

  117. I really like using witch hazel as a toner. Any kind of witch hazel is fine as long as there isn't any alcohol or other nasty stuff in it. I also like the Caudalie Organic Grape Water Spray. Its moisturizing, has no horrible stuff in it and smells wonderful. :)

  121. Dr. Hauschka toner for years and years! Now rarely also the Dr. Weil toner (an Origins-sample that lasts quite long), testing the Queen of Hungary Face Mist by Omorovicza, but it doesn't feel that special to me for this price tag, although the smell is nice.

  122. I LOVE the Decleor toners, but my favourite of them is the Tonifying lotion. It does the job and smells wonderful(I feel like I'm in a spa when I use it,haha). I sometimes opt for the Mario Badescu glycolic toner, too.

  123. I love the Elemis Balancing Lavender Toner, used it for years and I think it's great! I tried the REN Clarifying toner recently but I didn't really like it, can't put my finger on why but I didn't find it claryifying, comforting or enjoyable to use.

  124. Yüli Panacea Elixir from Yüli Skincare (http://www.yuliskincare.com/products-page/blemish-prone/panacea-elixir/)! I love it! It's great for my acne-prone, oily-but-dehydrated skin!! It makes all the oils or serums I put on after soak up super fast!

  127. I'm going to be an outside voice on this page - but I don't use toners. I cleanse with Emma Hardie moringa balm, or else La Roche-Posay micellar water, and after I'll moisturise either with a thick cream or oil. I have slightly oily, skin that's quite senstive - but on the good side, almost never breaks out. I tried using tonors in my teens and found that my skin would get quite red from them - even non-alcoholic ones, so I stopped and have had clear skin ever since. I've recently wondered about trying them again, especially now that I'm getting older and would like to have more exfoliation - such as P50 or Liquid Gold - as part of my skincare rountine. However, I've had bad reactions to mild acids in the past, so I'm very much tiptoeing around this.

  131. I love the Paula's Choice Balancing Toner, though I am interested to try out her more moisturizing Resist toner as we move into colder weather. I love toners, though it is very hard to find nice ones that are free of alcohol and other irritants. I look forward to your toner post!

  132. I use Lush Eau Roma Water on my dry skin as it doesn't contain Alcohol. However, I don't think it makes a difference to my skin apart from the cooling/soothing when first applied.

  133. Melvita Rose Toner. A clear, quite gloopy consistency, so soothing on my skin and the smell (roses) is lovely. Leave it on the skin and then I apply a mask on top.

  135. Whilst I'm not the biggest fan of toners, I have to admit I do love the Silk Naturals 8% AHA toner. It's divine! xx

  136. Ok, this is going to sound weird, but I actually just use organic witch hazel solution and nothing else. Out of everything I've tried this works the best at getting rid of redness and reducing pores, and its not too harsh as I have sensitive skin.

  138. My three favourites are:
    Trilogy Hydrating Mist
Shiseido Benefiance Wrinkle Resist 24 Balancing Softener
Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv Intensive Softening Lotion

I've never tried the Antipodes Ananda Toner but I love their Hosanna serum so I might try this one next.

  141. I recently had to cut down a bit on high-end skincare *faints*, but discovered the Yves Rocher 3-tea products. Am loving both the cleanser and toner. They have worked well with my oily skin.

  142. My top fav, and I tried loads :/
Dr Hauschka Toner for all skin types
    Spiezia Floral water
    Caudalie Grape Water
    La Roche Posay Spring Water
    Pukka Uplifting Toner
All the others I tried I didn't like them... some weren't too bad but this ones are my fav... ohhhh... just remember, there is one mix toner/serum from Dr Alkaitis, loved that one too, amazing for skins that are extra sensitive, like mine in winter.

  143. It's me again...
I find very interesting this question about toners and how effective they really are. For sure I can see their ability to change the skin, more obvious when they are bad ones full of alcohol and other nasties. But talking about the good ones, I have to mention a product that is not a toner, but I think could have that name, marketing apart, package and cost... would be a toner but... The product is Dr Hauschka Rhythmic Night Conditioner, better, lets make my point more interesting, lets bring all the Intensive Treatments from the brand to make my point stronger. Ok, I confess, some products from the Dr H are just amazing and the ones I love they really make a big difference in my skin, on the other side, there are others that bhahhhhhhhhhhhh, horrid (sorry Dr H) so my point... I think that maybe you will talk about Sjal toner in your post about toners, and I confess I am curious about that brand, so my question would be if Sjal products, infused with all the precious minerals, stones and precious metals are a more advanced take on Dr H Intensive Treatments? I don't know why this simple question took such a big rambling, I presume that I am trying to say that I read the labels and do lots of googling about how effective are those precious materials and also believe in the healing power of them, blha blha blha... But as we know just because says 100% organic pure argan oil in both bottles, that doesn't mean they have the same quality. Again, sorry this long rambling, not sure if it makes any sense, but I would love to ear you talk about those things

  144. I know strictly speaking it's not a toner but I use the Liz Earle one.. I also love the Elemis Lavender one. I have oily skin and I heard these were good for this skin type but tbh I am not sure x

  145. SKII Facial Treatment Essence - It doesn't transform your skin, nor does it rescue your skin from any sort of major disruption, but when used long term, it balances your skin out slowly and gradually and when you have naturally good skin I think this helps to maintain and slightly improve it.
Caudalie Beauty Elixir - amazingly refreshing.

  146. I use plain rosewater. Very soothing and I feel it helped to clear up my eyelid eczema. The fragrance is lovely too!

  147. I use 2:
    1. Just ascorbic acid i mix up myself with water, and
    2. L'Occitane Immortelle Essential Water: luscious & moisturising

I've also found the Simple one to be a great basic toner and still have a soft spot for SKII ETE

  148. I commented already but I just remembered the Paula's Choice CLEAR Extra Strength Targeted Blemish Relief Toner (which is also listed as an exofoliant - what gives?) this is my next purchase.

  151. Jurlique rosewater balancing mist is nice, but I often just use plain old rosewater.

  152. I really like the La Roche-Posay toners, the Effaclar astringent lotion, with salicylic acid, if I need some exfoliating action - although I've just noticed it contains alcohol. No parabens though. Or the Physiological soothing toner if I need something more gentle. Just reading that glycerin and caster oil are high up on the ingredients list here. Where do you stand on those? Anyhow, my skin likes these, and as someone who suffers congested skin, using a toner is a very important step for me.

    ReplyDelete
  153. The La Roche Posay Physiological Toner is fab for sensitive skin, it has no alcohol and is just nice and moisturizing (with glycerin) !

  154. I'm a huge toner advocate..started the Clinique three step at age 11, I love that I found this blog! The best toners depend on where you are in your life..I'm thirty two and I'm using now skinceuticals revitalizing toner which is good. The best is between that one Mario bedescu glycolic acid toner

    ReplyDelete
  155. I also use  La Roche-Posay toners, the Effaclar astringent lotion, and thougj it works I worry about the alcohol. Can you help ease my kind over this? As it is affordable and works? I then go over with a hydrating mist by ...cant remember the name but the one you blogged about and it green bottle and botanics range?? Not at home, name totally lost in my mind! Then just a hydrating moisturiser by eithet simple in the morning ot at night I use oilatum.

  156.  La Roche-Posay toners, the Effaclar astringent lotion, is what I use and also worried about the alcohol! Can you reassure me on this as it does work and go over it with hydrating mist botanical spray by Aveda.

  157. For a budget price how is botanics brightening toner?

  158. I will try this toner out! I've never really used a toner, but I decided to try Made from Earth's Correcting Toner in an effort to keep my skin looking young. I really like Made from Earths Toner. Not only is it firmer (and I'm only 36), but it's clearer and more even - and I've only been using it for a week, tops.
