  1. Nice 'tache/eyebrow combo! Also, I like to imagine that the shelves in your house are more laden than the average Space NK. Which doesn't make me jealous at all, no sirree.

  3. I love Jamie's Italian, it's amazing! And those cushions are fab!

I was wondering if you could do/direct me to a post on skincare without water for those of us in shared houses and not much sink time? Currently I have my own sink so my skincare routine is fine, but next academic year I'm in a shared student house with four girls and one sink which is in the bathroom (plus the kitchen one, but I'm not washing my face there!). Currently I use a wash off cleanser, but I have no idea where to look for something that doesn't need water (obviously I'm planning on using my wash-off one still, but there will be days when I just can't get to the bathroom at the time I need to and I'd rather not resort to wipes)

  4. Fabulous pictures!!I'm especially interested in the one showing your skincare!:)Would you tell me which Clarins toner next to the Clarins Exfoliating Toner is? Thank you! I guess the exfoliating one is to takeaway and the other to add?:)Do you alternate between them or use both after each other? So many questions...I'm sorry! xxx Anna

    1. Sorry not Caroline, but that is the Clarins toning lotion for normal/dry skin. Caroline usually says to use them both- use the exfoliating toner on a cotton pad first and then spray the hydrating toner next. Hope that helps!

  11. Hello, I write to you asking for recommendation. I have combination skin but very sensible, today in the elizabeth arden department they have analyzed my skin and recommended to use peel and reveal from the visible difference line. However, it is too expensive for me. Could you say a similar one which would suit my characteristics. Thank you

  13. Hello Caroline!
I have just discovered your blog.. I have to say, it's changed my whole viewpoint on skincare! You are bloody FANTASTIC!

I just wondering if you could possibly give me a little advice.. I'll be going on holiday to Egypt this summer, and then to Turkey in October. I was wondering about any good hydrating masks and moisturisers/balms that I could use on a plane? I'll be taking Hydroluron with me, to use underneath as well.

Also, I was wondering about your general opinion on Egyptian Magic cream?

    Thank you so much!

  15. I realise that this is irrelevant to the post, but wasn't sure where else to ask.
I have only recently started reading your blog, and whilst I have taken a lot of advice on board (binning the wipes and spending a little extra on my skin), I am intrigued by your hatred for mineral oil. I'm sure it's not the perfect moisturiser and there are considerably better options but that doesn't seem reason enough for such contempt.
After some research, it appears that mineral oil has been accepted as a reasonable emollient and many studies have found it to be non-comedogenic to human skin.
This study is funded by an oil-based skin care company, making it more than a little biased, but does collect a range of more balanced and scientific studies in one place.

I was wondering where your mineral oil hatred has come from, and if it has evidence to back it up other than experience with your own skin?

    1. Hi Anon, Honestly just a long time working in the industry. And working with a lot of brands over the years that had the same thought process: Liz Earle, Sarah Chapman, The Organic Pharmacy, Zelens and more. There is an abundance of evidence that mineral oil is just not the best ingredient to put on the face. Evidence supporting MO is usually traced back to petrol/oil companies desperate to sell it off. Its a personal choice based on years of working in the industry and seeing far too many people break out when using it. Hope that helps? x

    2. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I just prefer to have a rounded idea of things rather than believing everything I read.
That said, I have blindly followed a lot of your advice and it has done wonders for my skin, so thank you!
Maybe replacing my baby oil will be my next step..

  18. Loved your video with Pixiwoo, I've watched it going on five times. You've definitely heavily influenced my skincare routine, as evidenced by your toner shelf's similarity with mine :)
I can't thank you enough for introducing me to Emma Hardie's Cleansing Balm-- totally life-changing.

  20. Hey Caroline!
I've been reading your blog for over a year now and I'm so happy for your continued success.

I have a question about toners. Do I use the Clarins exfoliating toner and then the toning lotion with chamomile? Can't really get my hands on LRP serozinc yet but still not losing hope. This is the part of my skin care that confuses me.

    Hope to hear from you!

    3. I am with you! I have been using the Clarins Exfoliating toner and a hydrating toner from MAC (waiting for it to finish so I can purchase either the Clarins toning lotion or the Caudelie Elixir) I think that's the way to go. HELP CAROLINE!

  21. Hi Caroline!
I have been reading your blog for over a year now and it's my nightly read! I am so happy for your continued success!

I was wondering about toners. I was wondering if I should use the Clarins exfoliating toner under the Clarins toning lotion with chamomile after? And then if I do get my hands on the LRP serozinc do I spray it after the 2nd toner? Its the only part of my regimen that is confusing to me.

    Hope to hear from you!

  22. Hi Caroline! I love everything about you! I was wondering about the Clarins gentle exfoliator, here in Spain, the second ingredient is alcohol (I don't know the UK version) Is it ok or it would be damaging?
You always say it is ok if it is not among the first ingredients, right?
    I have combination/dry skin
    Thanks for everything!
    Mel
