Brace yourselves NYC

I'm heading to NYC for business on Saturday. Staying in the fabulous New Jersey over the weekend with one of my favourite people ever (shout-out to the Starbucks crew) - and then moving in to town early in the week.

I'll be hitting up as many pharmacies/stores as possible while I'm there - I always do - but I've had so many requests from US readers that I think I'd be disowned if I didn't.

I'll be Instagramming non-stop as per usual and if I can get to a PC I'll update the blog as I go along.

  12. Please find a pepta-bright states copy Im desperate. Hopefully you will visit Ulta and Whole Foods. It sounds crazy, but Whole Foods has more natural beauty selection

    1. You won't get results similar to Pepta-Bright in Whole Foods. Natural products won't cut it in the brightening/pigmentation sector. In my humble opinion obvs... :)

  37. Does anyone know if the liquid gold packaging has changed? I have seen it pictured in a white container here... but when I search for it it's now in a gold container? Can't find the white one?? This should be used after cleansing with nothing else right? Anyone know the reasoning behind not by chance??

    1. I wouldn't normally butt in and answer but since Caroline is away and you did say 'anyone' :)

I have one in a white bottle with dark grey lid but they now seem to have what looks like a single colour bottle and cap - might be gold - definitely looks dark grey online.

As I understand it - LG works on lowering the pH of your skin, albeit temporarily. Using something over the top reduces the effect.

    2. Thank you soooo much, appreciate your help:)

    3. I think it's now darker grey. Very fancy. :)I personally have to use something over it or I get milia...

      Delete
    4. What do you use over the liquid gold Caroline?

      Delete
    5. What do you use over the liquid gold Caroline> I thought a toner like this would help to prevent milia, no? I am currently using tretinoin for acne - but I want something to brighten my skin, this doesn't seem to be doing it for me - should I try alternating this in a couple times a week, but what to put on top?

  38. I'm a bit of a skincare junkie, so I'm very excited to have found your blog thanks to Pixiewoo, I'm very interested in what you find skincare worthy here in the states, because I've taken to ordering most of mine from the UK and the ones that I'm not ordering are UK or French products that have been brought Stateside. I'd also love to see a post about UK or French products that are available here in the States, so I can try more things!

  42. Caroline, you should start a youtube channel and post regular videos. This is because everything will be documented and people will be able to watch old posts more easily. i find going through blogs for old posts quite time consuming. And all your advice are absolutely amazing and everyone should watch you.

  45. hi Caroline - i'm thrilled that you're visiting the US - safe travels! i will be traveling to London in August, and have every intention of spending way more time than i (probably?) should in boots, space NK, superdrug and other drugstores. if you had to pin down your top 5 products that are, for the most part, "UK only", what would they be? i realize most things can be found by stalking the internet, but there is something nice about buying a UK brand in the UK. additionally, feel free to suggest any other stores - i would always prefer to support independent start-ups versus the corporate behemoths.

    many thanks! Jen
