  4. Hi Caroline, what is your take on serums containing collagen or peptides. Can my skin absorb them (in general), and can they improve my skin in terms of anti-ageing? Have a wonderful weekend! - Melodie

  5. HI Caroline. Your advice has helped me so much! Do you have any suggestions for hydrating toners available in the U.S.?
Serozinc is not available here and neither is the MV organics rose toner. I'd be so grateful for any suggestions!

    1. Tons of hydrating toners - all the big brands make them. Dermalogica Multi-Active?

  6. HI Caroline, your blog has helped me so much. Do you have any suggestions for a hydrating toner available in the U.S.? MV organics is not
available here and neither is LRP Serozinc. Caudalie's toner is a bit strong for me to use every day. Any suggestions you might have would be
    absolutely wonderful.

    1. Hi Michelle,

Loads! All the main brands have hydrating toners - and if you're flush Chantecaille Rose de Mai is delicious...!

    2. Thank you--you are beyond awesome! So excited you answered my question! Found it online and looking forward to trying it. Probably a silly question but do you apply moisturizer when toner is still wet on your face, or do you let the toner evaporate on your face then moisturize, or do you wipe off any excess with a cotton pad?

    1. This is truly brilliant moisturiser. Really light, absorbs brilliantly and doesn't clog pores. X

    2. Hi, I'm fairly sure the Alpha-h moisturiser also contains mineral oil.

    3. Hi Anon - it does indeed. Twas an homage to my hubby - who is obsessed with it. ;) It's not too far up the inci list so doesn't stress me HIGHLY. *twitches*

  11. Hi Caroline,

I wanted to buy a working toner from Clarins (the brightening one) which you've recommmended. However, here in Poland, it's stated on the toner to use it only once or twice a week! I'm not sure if that is the same product as you have, it's rather like a liquid gold than a toner really...
Do you use your Clarins toner everyday?

    Thanks,
    Marta

    1. No but only because I swap it out with other toners. You should be ok but if you develop milia you are over exfoliating!

    2. Hi Caroline,
Sorry to jump in..I recently bought the Clinque TTDO Cleansing Balm and now using the Clinque exfoliating toner. Since using these both I have developed very tiny bumps on my cheeks and forehead. Do you think this is a sign of over exfoliating? (Its only been about a week) Maybe I should only use the Clinque toner twice a week? Is there another you recommend by any chance?

Thank you so much for the advice so far!!

  12. Hi Caroline

New to the site, so please forgive me if this has been answered before. What's your favourite product for drying up spots/getting rid of red scars? Thanks, Sheila.

  13. HI Caroline! What do you recommend for a moisturizer, toner and eye cream for a 20s gal that has spider veins, redness, hormonal acne? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Stick to REN/Decleor/Clarins if you are in your 20's.The hormonal acne and redness would lead me to say Intral or anti-redness - but google them and see what you like the look of.

I've been a regular reader of your blog ( thanks to my sister), and I was wondering how can I find out if my skin is dehydrated or dry?

And what are your thoughts about toleriane ?

I also wanted to know your opinion on omega capsules..i recently started with a supplement from Blackmores containg 500mg of fish oil and 500mg of evening primrose oil....both natural source of omega 3 and 6..what would you suggest taking both omega3 and 6 or only fish oil supplement is enough? the point being the combo one is almost double as expensive as compared to supplement of fish oil hence wanted to know if both omega 3 and 6 are equally important or can I get away with omega 3 only ie fish oil one..thank you for your time

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi there, Omega 6 is not the good one and it's not good to supplement it as you get more than enough from everyday foods. Too much omega 6 is not healthy.
Omega 3 on the other hand is the good one and definitely should be supplemented with fish oil.

  29. Hi Caroline! A quick question: i'm desperate to find a good moisturizer for combination skin (makeup doesn't stay for long on the t-zone), redness on cheeks and prone to breakouts (cystic acne, hormonal acne).
Currently own but don't really like: avene cleanance moisturiser, Emma Hardie amazing face moisturizing cream, Biotherm aquasource for combination skin and Keihl's ultra facial oli-free lotion.
Would be so thankful if you could help!

  30. Hi Caroline,
Only found your blog recently and I am gradually changing my skincare regime. So far I have Alpha H Balancing cleanser, Clinique Take The Day Off Balm (sadly allergic to EH and I loved it too), Pixi Glow Tonic, Liquid Gold, Eyesilix and Hydraluron. Using up existing moisturisers before I replace. My question is for my 17 year old. Over the past few weeks he has got lots of spots, not acne, but very spotty. I am encouraging him to use my products, ie Clinique balm, followed by LG or Pixi. Is this okay or too harsh for his skin? I hope you can find the time to answer my question please as I want to try and help him before the spots get too bad. Thanks for reading and thanks for all your great advice - my 43 year old skin thanks you too! :-)

  31. Hi can you recommend an exfoliating toner without fragrance? I have the clarins one but find it very irritating on my rosacea skin. Thanks

  32. Hi Caroline,
My eyes are sore since discovering your blog... I cannot stop reading. I've already ordered AU$400 worth of your suggestions!
One of those is Clarins Exfoliating Toner - I know you recommend a hydrating toner for afterwards, can you suggest a couple?
I was thinking about the Caudalie Beauty Elixir but you said only a couple of time a week for that? Looking for every day.
Aaaand... which Clarins Mask is the good one? Is it HydraQuench Cream Mask?
    Thanks!
