Backstage at Stella McCartney SS14 for Sunday Riley

No babies, no boobs. Fair enough.

Yesterday I was in Paris working backstage prepping the models for the Stella McCartney show on behalf of Sunday Riley. It was busy, so hot, sweaty, but great fun. I thought I'd share some of the photos from the morning. Hope you enjoy.

Miranda plonked herself down right next to us. Nice. :)
JOAN SMALLS ROCKS 'THE EYEBROW'.

I had to. My Mum and Dad met at the Cavern. Gimme a break.
Stella, Eugene and Cara pre-show.

Caught having a kip. :)
Pat McGrath and team.

The finished product.

I was asked a lot on Twitter/Instagram what I was using - I mainly used Charisma Creme cleanser, Start Over eye cream and Good Genes treatment. The skin needed to be fairly dry for the makeup stage so only one model needed a moisturiser on top and that was Skin Adrenaline. I used it on top instead of underneath Good Genes to give it a little extra 'glow' without looking shiny.

More info on Sunday Riley is available on their website and it is sold in the UK at Cult Beauty and Space NK.

  4. Caroline! your opinion on glycolic versus bha exfoliants? my skin is combination/normal with some blackheads & milia in the T zone. I'd love your advice!

    1. Right?! I kept looking for SOME indication that she had blush on or maybe foundation, but if she does it was done perfectly because she looks like she just wakes up looking like a beautiful cherub or something.

  7. Miranda looks amazing! For congested skin, would the lactic acid aka the good genes treatment be a better option than glycolyic aka alpha H? Thanks!

  10. Why does Stella McCartney show at Paris Fashion Week and not London? Surely that would make more sense? Anyway, thanks for sharing your pass with us, I loved seeing all the action! x

  11. Hi Caroline, on your recommendation (Twitter) I bought the Start Over eye cream and Good Genes cream in order to get the Space NK GWP the other week which was fantastic. Both are amazing products. I also bought Wei Dragons Blood eye lifting patches and these are just the best I have ever used for shadows and puffiness. 10 in a pack aswell. X

  12. Ok, either those models all have absolutely 100% flawless skin, or you guys are wizards! Just beautiful! Actually I am pretty sure you are wizards anyways :)

Caroline I wanted to thank you for your recommendations here on the blog, you are an angel. Last month I got my first big hormonal breakout in about a decade (I had to interrupt the pill for reasons outside of my control), my skin went from being practically blemish free (I do get the occasional spot but never more than a few per month) to having multiple whiteheads, countless small bumps, and a few painful cysts all around my chin and on my forehead, all within 2 weeks. I came here and read/re-read what must have been every single thing you've ever posted. I have since been using the Darphin Purifying Balm, Clarins lotus oil, and exfoliating toner as treatments (not all at the same time of course) as well as my trusty TriAcneal, and fish oil supplements, and my skin is finally calming down and starting to slowly clear up. I cannot thank you enough. THANK YOU. Now, when this mess is all better... I have my pepta-bright lined up!

I can't wait to try some of these Sunday Riley products, as all of your recommendations (the P50, which segued into an intense love affair with many other products from the Biologique Recherche line, SEROZINC, balm cleansing, etc.) have made a world of difference in my skin.

Thank you so much for these lovely photos from an equally lovely show. I only wish I could be as lucky as these girls were to have you prepping my skin!

  23. You look so motherly in the few pictures with you in them! It's cute! I guess it is more of you inspecting your work. (Not that you aren't always like that haha)

  24. Love these pictures! If you had to suggest one skincare product to start off with from Sunday Riley, what would you suggest? I received a sample of Good Genes when I purchased their primer and remember really liking it. I would have never though to put under my makeup as I would have thought it would be exfoliating the skin, but I must try that. Also is the charisma creme for dry skin and the charisma slip for oily? Thank you Caroline! Your posts are fantastic.

    3. I LOVE the primer. I use it more like a tinted moisturiser though. Just makes the skin glow.

  25. Caroline ---You look great.....what foundation are you wearing? Your eye makeup is so natural and beautiful. Everything comes through the hands .....and your magical hands are "shining" in these photos.
Thanks for sharing and when are you coming back to NY?

  29. Your parents met at the Cavern Club you say? Might have been served by my Mum as she worked there! Don't blame you for taking the pic, I would have to (the only bragging rights I have is that I was born in the same hospital as JL). Thanks for letting us backstage with you to watch your alchemy x

  30. What I wouldn't give to have flawfree skin like those girls!
Just a quick note - 'I used it (moisturiser) on top instead of underneath Good Genes' is this the order in which you're supposed to layer them? Having I been doing this wrong for the better part of a year?! Usually I do 1. Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair 2. Good Genes 3. Hironsluron and 4. moisturiser

  31. When I saw Sunday Riley I humped right in!! Please tell us what are your fav from this line?? I seem to like them all, but only tried Good genes, and not consistently...The thing is every time I wore this, my skin is very much greasy, do I do something wrong? So I don't really tend to wear it too much. But a few people I follow love this brand and its skincare. I want to love it too, please let us know what you think. Merci! ;-)
