Ole Henriksen - Truth is in the Eyes

I love this product. It's one of those that you don't need to use very often and see results from very quickly.

I being the freak that I am, use my exfoliating toners all around the eye area - I always have. This however, goes that step further and really makes the skin smooth and soft and thus much more tolerant to absorbing eye products.

Inci:
Water, Chondrus crispus (Carrageenan), Citric Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Glycolic Acid, Saccharide Isomerate, Hydrolized Rice Bran Protein, Oxio Reductases, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Protein, Glycerin, Lactic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Hexylene Glycol (preservative), Xanthan Gum, Polysorbate 20, Sodium Hyaluronate, Algae Extract, Pullulan, Oleth 20, Allantoin, Glycerin, Sorbitol, Calcium Ascorbate, Aloe Vera Extract

It is extremely gentle. Seriously. I've had no adverse reactions to this and heard no reports about problems from readers that have tried it. If you suffer from tired, wrinkled, puffy eyes this could be the answer to your prayers.

  3. Well, I'm shocked that you use exfoliating toner under the eyes. Maybe it's because I've always used to blindly follow the instructions written on the bottles...How many times a week do you use an exfoliator under the eyes? Don't you feel any burning or itching? Is it safe? I'm really courious, I'd like to know more about it. Please let mi know about your opinion and the effects you've noticed.

  4. I have white dots in my dark circle under eye area, I think they may be milia that have not developed yet? Wondering if this would help with the problem? Or if something else is a better option?

I have the exact same problem and I've never found a solution. Would love to know if this product would help

  5. With your assurances of gentleness, I will give it a try... and could you perhaps recommend a moisturizer for use around the very most horribly sensitive and irritation-prone eyes? Your advice has done wonderful things for my skin but so far my eyes have tolerated nearly none of it.

  6. Quick question: is this safe on eyelids too or just the eye bag area? Thanks!

  7. Do you alternate this with an eye cream I suppose? Or do you layer them?

  13. This looks like it could be a really interesting product - I love trying new skincare things and have undereye issues (lack of sleep doesn't do them any favours either!) Potential addition to my wish list!

  15. Caroline, I'm wondering about your feelings about the addition of Lye (potassium hydroxide) and citric acid which is more irritating than glycolic acids in this eye cream? I also tested the pH approximately 5 times or so, and it was over 4.7 meaning it cannot exfoliate (as AHA's in formulas with pH's over 4.5 can only moisturise but NOT exfoliate - while those with a more acidic pH of 4.5 or less are meant for exfoliating). This means this product while containing glycolic and citric acid is not pH correct for exfoliation. Are you recommending this for hydration only? If it does not exfoliate can one just use an acid toner on the eye area?

  16. I am so glad I remembered this post while browsing at TJ Maxx today. Scored a tube for $12! Already added to the my evening routine. Do you recommend using it morning and night as directed?

Coincidentally, TJ Maxx also had a selection of Una Brennan products. I'm really tempted to go back for those. They had the facial oil, cleansing oil, and the night cream. Do you have any thoughts on the night cream?

    Thanks!

    1. I got it at TJ Maxx, too. Just about had a heart attack when I saw it. I considered buying all of the ones in stock, but was with my mother and didn't want her to think I was insane.

  18. I just love this product! It works beautifully for my 44 year old eyes! My issue is that after only 4 uses, while screwing the cap either on or off (can't quite remember which way) the entire neck of the tube snapped off! I wasn't using any unusual pressure on it either. Since I loved it, I didn't hang on to box or receipt:( I emailed Ole Henrickson & they never even responded. I'm really bummed because this works like a dream but now mines exposed to air & can't be sealed back up. Has anyone else had tried this & had this issue?
Caroline, finding you was like finding my better half! Haha I think my husbands getting tired of me reading your posts to him:) I really think your way of looking at skincare & aging is brilliant!
