Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Gel and a crazy Giveaway.

Regular readers will know that a few of us have been trialing overnight treatments - especially for acne/combination skins. The reviews of the La Roche Posay kit and Vichy's Dermatox are coming next.

I've been using Ole's Invigorating Night Gel for a few weeks and it's a must-have for either acne, combination or prone-to-random-hormonal-swollen-red-spots/bumps skins.

Ingredients:
Aqua (Water), Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Algae Extract, Glycerin, Calcium Ascorbate, Sorbitol, Tocopherol, Vaccinium Myrtillus Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Acer Saccharum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Xanthan Gum, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Hydroxide, Fragrance (Parfum)

There is a definite knack to using this. It's an oil-free gel that absorbs almost instantaneously so the temptation is to apply more. Don't. It's a treatment, not a moisturiser. I use this underneath either an oil, an overnight treatment or a hydrating moisturiser.

It is very light and laden with glycolic and lactic acids and fruit sugars making it both a resurfacing and clarifying overnight treat.

  1. Sounds lovely! Can it be used daily or is it a 2/3 times a week-er?

  2. Alas, for uk readers only! Dear Caroline thnx for your greatly informative blog! It's been really helpful. Can I ask if the concentration of orange oil is high enough to cause irritation cause otherwise I think it's a product I REALLY need to try but I think my skin is a bit intolerant to essential oils. Thank you and here's some love from Greece.

  3. Hi Caroline, the night gel seems to be sold out everywhere but there is an invigorating night treatment. Do you know if this is the replacement? Thank you. X

    1. Ally, I had the same question! I have read some reviews on makeupalley and sephora which indicate that yes, it is, because they talk about the glass jar being re-packaged into the more convenient and hygienic pump. I havent had a chance to contact the brand themselves to ask, maybe that's worth a try?

    2. Thanks Katie. I may well drop them a note but sounds like the most plausible answer.
