My long-haul flight kit

I tend to keep back all of my trial sizes that I collect from GWPs and brands in a dedicated drawer so that I can pick from them as and when I need them for travelling.

This is a fairly typical selection from me and left to right includes:

  • Ole Henriksen Nurture Me Cleansing Cloths - If I have to use a wipe, I pretty much always use Ole's
  • Radical Eye Revive Creme - never used this before - it was in a GWP. Not sure for long-term use but fine for an airplane.
  • La Mer Soft Cream - for layering with the oils and sprays
  • Chantecaille Jasmin and Lily Healing Mask - didn't use on the way out, but usually carry it just in case
  • Dennis Gross MD Alpha Beta Pads - always use these when travelling - the packaging just makes them indispensable
  • Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist - a must-have
  • Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist - this is the best travel size spritz purely for its spray action. It may be small but it sprays like a big player.
  • Perfume Travel Spritz filled with Frederic Malle Lys Mediterranee
  • Roger & Gallet Fig Hand Cream - purely for the smell and lack of tackiness after use
  • Tatcha Gold Camellia Beauty Oil - I used this the most - lots of layers...
  • SKII Facial Treatment Mask - for scaring fellow passengers :)
  • Mavala Nailactan Hand and Nail Cream
  • Zelens 3T Complex - the perfect airplane size of one of my favourite moisturisers
  • Tata Harper Be Fierce Free Radical Resistance Lip Treatment - this is beautiful - airplane or no airplane
  • Estee Lauder Revitalising Supreme CC Cream so that I don't scare immigration!
That's it. Going home will be different - mainly because PHARMACY AND TARGET AND KATE SOMERVILLE AND AND AND *head explodes*

    1. Yes please!! I know you don't like haul videos, but it would be great for us Americans to see what caught your eye. Also, when you are at Sephora (just assuming that you will be there...) check out the Boscia line. I think you'll like what you see!

  2. Caroline, do you mind telling us how you liked the La Mer Soft Cream? La Mer in general gets raves at one end of the spectrum and scathing reviews at the other. From you I'd know I was getting a real, objective opinion. Have fun at Target and can't wait for your post about your KS facial.

    1. If you look through the blog Caroline has mentioned it... La Mer used to? use mineral oil, which is why a certain amount of people dislike it. However some of the (newer?) products don't have it, which makes them more acceptable. Hope that helps, that's all I can remember about the La Mer "controversy".

  4. Fab post Lady Hirons! I have a question.

Whenever I put on a facial oil on my oily/combination dehydrated and sensitive acne prone skin, my skin gets itchy - do you know why?

    Thank you!

  10. Wonderful kit! I've thought about using a sheet mask in an airplane, but I'm much too scared to put it on....I've used sleeping masks and have had pleasant results (and no strange looks). Enjoy your time in L.A.!

  11. So, I travel a lot too. however, I travel places with nothing. Recently, I *forgot* 2nd/ morning cleanser. Argh!! Nearest pharmacy was an hour drive. My question is... What's a passable- plan B? (I used the Dr. Bronners I brought for my body and loaded on the moisturizer. Really, plan b for both cleanser and moisture would be great to know.

    1. Its not so much what we can't get its how much it costs in the UK :-(
I just came back from Florida with a huge Target haul .. Sally Hansen Gel polishes at about 1/3 price they cost here, NYX lip butters ..Physicians Formula is really hard to get here as well ....so we all love Target and Walmart !

Hope Caroline also makes it to Bath and Body Works as well ...I love that place and its coconut heaven :-)

  20. I've just done a similar trip and also used a Jurlique mist, the Calendula Rescue and Redness mist. It was superb. I first cleansed with cotton wool pads and the Radical hydrating cleanser. A spritz of Algenist toner, then Radical Youth Serum followed by Nuxe Crème Fraiche. Then regular spritz of the Jurlique. When I landed my skin was in amazing condition, for the first time ever I didn't use tinted moisturiser or foundation.
I'm pleased you are trying the Radical products. Im not a fan of the exfoliating pads although I did travel with them as the pouch is so travel friendly. The eye cream is non-descript. I do really like the moisturiser however the star product is the Youth Infusion Serum. It initially hydrated, brightened and toned my skin noticeably within 2 weeks and it has just got better and better. (I've used 2 hydraulon tubes and seen no impact at all). The serum (and the Jurlique mist) are both star products for sensitive dehydrated 40year old skin.
