New Monthly Focus - and Zelens Z Luminous and Intense Defence

When I spoke at the Harvey Nichols Beautiful Mind event a few weeks ago - one of the audience members asked the panel what brand we would pick if we could only use one for the rest of our lives. Needless to say, none of us could give a straight answer - we all had 2 or 3 options for each category. I said: 'Zelens for serums. No competition.'

These new additions will only reinforce that decision. Z Luminous and Intense Defence are not available yet, but I wanted to give a special heads-up to Z Luminous, which, from first application, was mind-blowing. It brightens, softens and gives amazing glow - something which is, as per usual, top of my list of requirements. :)

What is it?
'A new lightening and brightening cosmeceutical serum.'

Who is it for?
Anyone concerned with visible signs of pigmentation damage and people concerned with dull skin that lacks luminosity.

What’s in it?
Full inci list coming

Natural? Organic? Man made? Vegan?
Man-made in the best frigging way possible

Tested on animals/sold in China?
No./No.

What's not in it?
Mineral oil - this much I can guarantee.

This is all a little bit of a tease for what is to come on the blog during May. My focus will be serums - all types, all prices, all strengths.

I will still be doing my normal reviews and Cheat Sheets - but am trying to focus on as many reviews as possible for serums - some new, some oldies but goodies.

I have literally spent all day today sorting out my stash *SPOILER KLAXON* because there is nothing like an impending visit from Sali Hughes and her 'In The Bathroom' crew to make you try and get organised.

How gorgeous is Hughes?

I am therefore spending tomorrow photographing said stash for upcoming reviews, including approximately 60 serums.

Sweet Lord in Heaven. Let's do this.

  1. Would this be suitable for acne prone skin, or is the intense defence better suited?

    1. It'll probably be quite short. Neither of us talks much. So very shy. :(

  12. Yey!! Also please consider adding info about which ages the serums are about. I'm 32 with minimal (to none) signs of aging, so I don't want to pull out the big guns just yet!

  16. *Eyes the Intense Defense*. So Zelens for serums. I like that he is cruelty free. I'd have to import him from Beauty Bay in the UK though. What about his eye creams? I keep mulling over whether to get the Triple Action Advanced Eye Cream or not.

  17. There are no words for how excited I am for the video of you and Sali Hughes. The combination of you both means I'm finally happy enough with my skin to go outside without makeup.

  18. I was wondering if the terms "lighten" and "brighten" are also relevant for dark acne scars (or only for pigmentation?) I've been wondering this for ages as most of the brightening products seem to aim at older skins...(?)

  25. Oooh, serums month, just what I needed (that, and a retinol cheat sheet *whistles innocently*). That does it then, buying something cheap to get me thru May and putting 80 quid away for when I'm in the UK next month.

Can't wait to see your video with Sali, my faces owes you both so much :)

  26. 60 serums? And I thought my stash was big, and I am still under 10.

  27. Great idea, Caroline, to work in this method of a monthly focus. I bet by the end of May there is nothing we won't know! 60 serums, yeah!!!
One request - could you also talk of a weekly routine for women your age (thus mine too), where you alternate between different serums and oils?

And OMG... IN THE BATHROM WITH CAROLINE HIRONS!!!!!! I'm sooooo looking forward to that!!!!! Please make it a 3 part saga at the very least.....

  29. I am SO bloody excited that Sali is doing her In The Bathroom series with you! You two will have a ball! With the serums you'll be talking about this month, could you please point mid-20's peeps in the direction of the right serums? I've got no idea what to use, other than hydraluron!

  30. Serum month, that makes me do a little wee. I am so excited :-) x

  36. I am beyond excited. Sali & Caroline are both my beauty skincare heroines. Without you two, I'll still be using the wrong products. Best birthday news this week for my 40th birthday on Friday.

  37. Yessssssssssssssss to all of this!

  38. First sali Hughes is just stunning. But alas so are you Ms Huron.
I have never heard of this brand- I'd like to try. Looks good.
I called bull crap on a lot of these serums for pigmentation last year. Growing up in the Aussie sun has left its pigmentation marks and scars. Nothing I have used has really worked so I just called bull.
    This however maybe.
Now I just concentrate on retinol, vitamin c, vitamin b serums and ahas. And SPF 50.
    Don't believe the hype.
And now at 31 I see those fine lines more and more every day.... Arghh sadness.

  39. Two things made me immensely excited, the first being the Sali Hughes visit (although I would prefer seeing your bathroom in all its usual glory - im being nosey) and that im that audience member!!! With the impossible question ;)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Give me a shout if you need help with that! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  41. Sorry if you've already done it, but would you consider doing a cheat sheet for looking after rosacea/sensitive skin types? :) x

    ReplyDelete
  42. Are these serums good for sensitive skins? Also do they contain antioxidants ss well as retinols?
