Weekly Vlog No.1!

Hi Everyone! Ok so I vlogged last week! While I don't have tons of time to film individual videos I thought it would be an idea to vlog my day to day at the moment - and then see how it goes. I also have a crappy memory so it's another way to keep a diary for me. :)

Let me know your thoughts. Unless they're horrible. In which case don't. :)

  13. Vlogs are fun, liked having a little peak into your week! :) And your post on reading ingredient lists were very helpful!
But... I still need some help, and this is my last attempt to ask you this question, I know you are a very busy woman and get many questions. But, my skin is really bothering me, and I don't know where to start... So reply if you can, if not other fellow readers are very welcome to chip in!
My skin is combination and sensitive. The sensitive thing comes and goes and is a struggle for me as I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm very acne prone any time of the month, but do get a lot on my chin as well as my cheeks. I have a lot of pores. And a lot of pigmentation on my cheeks (but my Estee Lauder ANR has helped!!) Oh, and as a sidenote I have ME/cfs, so my skin is looking a little dull sometimes, and I don't really know what other effect it has on my skin other than that it probably affects it... And I'm working reduced, so money is an issue, but my skin is bothering me a lot so I can invest in some things...
    What I'm using:
Cleansers: FAB milk oil cleanser (stings on me, just got it. I react to most FAB products), REN rosa centifolia cleansing balm (like, but expensive and runs out fast), REN Clearcalm 3 clarifying clay cleanser (trying out, feels a little tight before i moisturize)
Toner: FAB exfoliating pads (stings in the areas where I'm sensitive)
Serum: Hydraluron (daytime, LOVE) Estee Lauder Advanced Night repair (at night, LOVE)
Moisturizer: REN Vita Mineral day cream (LOVE this, and my skin loves it. But it runs out really fast. So have been using at night...) and been using The Body Shop Vitamin C moisturizer during day, stings sometimes.
Eye cream: Kiehls avacado eye cream. Like it, used it because of alleregies, will find something lighter when I have finished it.
    Sunscreen: Kiehls

I'm sorry that this was super-long.. Hope you have time to answer. Other than that, your blog is amazing, and I have learnt so much even though I'm still a little bit confused. :) Thanks
    - Caroline

    1. Hey there! Thought I'll recommend you some stuff, I have similar skin :)
First, the Salcura Antiac cleanser. Very gentle, non drying. It's lovely as a morning cleanser. I massage it on dry skin and then wash off. Can be used also as a second cleanser in the evening, although for that I love Pure Chimp cleanser. Amazing, gentle, ever so slightly exfoliating. Also super cheap, as you get a concentrated form and add a few drops water to form a paste. For make-up removal I use oils that emulsify. Una Brennan Vit C is the cheapest. I used and loved also DHC nad NUDE, but Superfacialist works the same. Juice Beauty anti-blemish serum is great. Not cheap, but you get a lot, and it will last you long time. Works good under moisturizer or SPF. If you're on a budget, avocado oil is awesome. A bit more expensive, but still cheaper than most and working great is Manuka Doctor balancing oil. Doesn't smell good, but as we know from Caroline's previous post that's actually a good sign. And if you want to splurge on something then the Honest balancing oil is THE best you can get. It's a niche brand you can buy it at www.peacebeauty.london (they also have great c.oconut oil you can use as a cleanser and a natural deodorant that works :) no, I don't work for them)
Also, you wrote that some areas on your face are more sensitive than others. Maybe you have perioral dermatitis? I got it soon after Caroline wrote a post on it. Read it. Unfortunatelly it's a bacterial infection, so to get rid of it you need something antibacterial. Bactroban works ok, although not overnoght. A great natural alternative that helped me before I got bactroban is MOA the green balm. It's basicly a natural antibacterial balm. Also works BEAUTIFULLY as a cleanser. Could be your night time moisturizer too. Definitely my desert island product. I saved the best for last. Good luck ;)

    2. Hi Caro, like you I also have problematic skin with rosacea on my cheeks and nose, spots caused by PCOS and to top it off I also have sensitive skin:( oh yeah im also on a budget! For me it's gotta be La Roche Posay I cleanse with their rosaliac cleanser to treat my redness- no stinging (burning) or dryness after, their physiological cleansing gel is also great especially for those 'spotty' moments. I tone with their soothing lotion- which does exactly as the bottle says. I also spray on Lush's Eau Roma toner to hydrate my skin. Serum, I'm currently tying Dr Organic Snail Gel serum as I've not really found a serum that's made me think wow! Moisturisers I'm back to La Roche Posay using the rosaliac range on my skin to moisturise but before this I'm treating my spots with their Efflacar duo+ and their redermic R creams. This combo for me works really well treating my redness, spots and sensitivity, and all at reasonable prices! I restocked my LRP supplies last week online with Boots and they were 3 for 2. Awesome!! I hope this post helps (even just a little) I can sympathise with you what it is to have what I lovingly call 'arsey' skin :)
