The First Reveal - OSKIA Micro Exfoliating Balm

This Balm was first reviewed on here over 4 years ago - and I still love it. It was also in my very first Cult Beauty Box. It's a great alternative for someone that cannot/doesn't want to use acids. It exfoliates very gently using MSM and silica, not a microbead in sight.

The original review is here: www.carolinehirons.com/oskia-micro-exfoliating-balm-review  (my reviews have been beefed up somewhat since 2012!) :)

The OSKIA Micro Exfoliating Balm is normally £48.00 for 50ml and is the first item in the upcoming box.

Thanks OSKIA!

  6. Caroline, how many items in total is in the box?
I have purchased all of your boxes but I haven't tried all of the items. This is one of them. I have a feeling that this is great, however, I hope there is no repeats going forward.

  9. I got this in the first box and it was a great product. Still it doesn't get me excited for this box, I would have preferred to try something different from Oskia... Not to mention that a lot of the readers of the blog most probably use acids already so it's a bit of an overkill.

  10. Also I would like to know how you use it in your routine, meaning do you skip acids when you use this?

    1. Great question!! I'm wondering the same thing. We'll see what the others think, but I probably wouldn't used this 'physical' exfoliator + an acid exfoliator .. I would worry it would be too harsh?

  11. I already have it and it's lovely but I thought the box would be full of new products.

  12. Caroline, what do you think of US-brand Makeup Artist's Choice? I've got my eye on the 25% Mandelic acid peel to lighten post-inflammatory pigmentation and smooth out some textural issues.

    1. MUAC is great. Just be careful. They offer lots of products that could be injurious if used improperly. Do your research. Have used the Mandelic acid (not sure of percentage) and it was great. They will sell you a sample to try out. But I repeat. Research what you buy. Know if it shouldn't be used with other products you use. Their customer service is great if you are unsure.

  13. Ah, I got the last box and absolutely loved it...but am already losing interest in this one due the repeat. I have 100% faith in you that the rest of the box will be amazing though! X

  14. I love to try new products, so am disappointed to see a repeat in the box. Hopefully it's the only one.

  15. I really love this for treating flakiness around my hairline and parting. Just a quick scrub before a shampoo (I just leave it in because it will be washed out anyway) and all gone. Thank you for the introduction Caroline, it's a product I would have passed over otherwise.

  16. Oh I'm happy you're mentioning this one, because I have a question. I've got this and quite like the result after using it. However, I find it is everything but gentle! I do use acids, even together with PC 1% retinol, and never have any problems, it's only this balm that kind of "hurts". Does this mean I could be overexfoliating?

  17. I received this in a previous box and as I love Oskia products, I had to give this one to my daughter as it was too harsh for my skin. She was very pleased about that and loves it.

  18. My skin suffered as I used to acid tone twice a day - now I only do it a few times a week. I have so many pads that I bought with Caroline's recommendations! They will last me a long time! Skin calmed down by using oils and a plain moisturiser with spf over the top - I stopped switching over my products every day and now stick to regulars.

  19. I've really enjoyed using this and only recently finished the one from the first box so I'm quite glad it's in the next one. Whilst I do use acids, sometimes I do prefer this sort of product and get the instance smoothness.

  20. This sounds interesting, I use chemical exfoliators but wouldn't mind giving this a shot.

  21. I got the second box!!! I loved it!!!
I'm actually still using some of the products that I got in there! It was well worth the price.
I signed up for the wait list for this box... I hope I can get box #4 as well!
Thank you so much Caroline!! This makes me so excited!
