My current every day makeup has had a few new finds so I thought I would do an update. This is generally what I use, with some exceptions noted below.
Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating – I love this – I find it really prevents any foundation from disintegrating into my pores because I’m dehydrated, an absolute must this week while I’m in LA.
Hourglass Illusion Foundation – I much prefer this to the Vanish Stick that everyone raved about last year. I found that too drying for me personally, although it’s ok as concealer. Illusion gives really good coverage and isn’t too shiny or matt. Sits comfortably in the middle. Both the primer and foundation are both nearly empty. The first time that has happened in a long time. I’m shade Beige.
Chantecaille HD Powder in Bronze – I haven’t looked back since I started using this. I had used the original shade ‘Universal’ since it launched until last year when someone told me to use the Bronze – and the difference is amazing. It just seems to blend into my own skin colour instead of making me seem slightly paler than I am. Use very time I wear foundation without fail. And I use it over any foundation.
Tweezerman for Benefit Brow Shaping Brush – easy, hygienic and sturdier than some I have used. Sadly now discontinued. Rude.
Smashbox Brow Tech Powder – I literally have used nothing else on my brows since I found this. I have two shades, Taupe and Blonde. I use Taupe to fill in the gaps in the arch of my brow and Blonde for the ends, almost like balayage. Takes seconds and is idiot-proof. Clearly…
New CID I-Glow Coral Crush – this is not new to regulars – I’ve used it for years, I love it and will not be without it. I sweep it across the top of my forehead. That’s it.
Bobbi Brown Bronzer in Antigua (as blusher) – a perfect dark pink that goes on lightly and is great for olive skin tones as blush. Easy to use if you just want a hint of colour, and buildable if you want to slap it on.
Armani Eccentrico Mascara – easy, quick, doesn’t end up down your cheeks, LOVE. I will use a teeny bit of this even when wearing extensions, just for the ‘oomph’ factor.
Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Lip Pencil in Firebird – the perfect purple/blue/pink lip liner that I use all over the lips and follow with the gloss below. Suits my blue-undertoned lips and looks like a lip gloss when used in this way, except it lasts ages.
Armani Rouge Ecstasy Lipstick in 402 – I don’t always use this, but when I do, I get compliments. A great, bright, red that stays where you put it.
Pixi LipLift Max in Petal Ice – no surprises here, have used and loved forever. The perfect lip gloss used on its own OR on top of pencils/lipsticks. Cannot go wrong. Available here: www.pixibeauty.com
