As many of you will know I am a long term Ambassador for The Eve Appeal, and as such am so thrilled to be featured in their ‘GET LIPPY’ campaign for May.
The Eve Appeal is the only charity in the UK devoted to raising awareness and funds for all five gynaecological cancers, and this month are linking up with retailers and brands to raise funds towards their groundbreaking research.
The campaign has a simple call to action: Get Lippy by purchasing a lipstick from a #GetLippy partner and literally Get Lippy by talking openly about the signs and symptoms and sharing a ‘pout and shout’ selfie on social media, spreading info on signs and symptoms to help raise awareness and vital funding for pioneering medical research.
(You may notice I was in the midst of my laryngitis when I filmed this…sorry!)
We all know that a culture of silence, stigma and taboos surrounds the female anatomy and gynaecological health and as a result, women often delay seeking medical advice. This in turn massively impacts on screening and can lead to late diagnosis. The Eve Appeal have launched the Get Lippy campaign to raise much needed awareness of the five gynae cancers and their signs and symptoms. Critically, it’s also raising funds for world-class medical research in women’s health and prevention. It’s time to break the silence and talk loudly to challenge the taboos.
